What I believe

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

Doctrine of the Bible

I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible. I believe the Bible is inerrant. I believe the Bible has been sovereignly preserved by God. I believe the Bible was accurately translated into the English language. I accept the traditional cannon of the Bible. I believe the Bible contains truth that is applicable for all. I believe the Bible is authoritative, and is profitable for doctrine and instruction in all matters of faith and practice. I believe in the literal interpretation of Scriptures.

Doctrine of God

I believe God is a Spirit existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which we call the Trinity. I believe that God is the Creator of all that exists. I believe God is sovereign over His Creation, while allowing man to retain the free will to choose to cooperate with His plans. I believe that God has revealed Himself to all men everywhere through a general revelation found in Creation, History, and conscience, and that God has revealed Himself through Special Revelation such as through Scripture. I believe God has certain non-moral attributes, which are that He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, transcendent, immanent, self-existent, self-sufficient, immutable, and infinite. I believe that God has several moral attributes, such as that He is holy, just, righteous, loving, gracious, merciful, and truthful. I believe God has several different names by which He is called that reveal His nature.

Doctrine of Jesus Christ

I believe that Jesus Christ is God. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Second person of the trinity, being the on begotten Son of God. I believe that Jesus humbled Himself by becoming a human, born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, and that He willfully died for the sins of the whole world. I believe that his death on the cross was a perfect sacrifice for sin, and that His resurrection assures a believer a future with God. I believe that Jesus is our High Priest. I believe that Jesus was exalted by God the Father in His heavenly position and that He will someday return for His believers in the Rapture and then again the Second Coming to rule and to reign over all the earth.

Doctrine of the Holy Spirit

I believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the Third Person of the Trinity. I believe the Spirit has specific ministries, including being active in Creation, inspiring Scriptures, enabling the believer for effective service, restrains evil, and intercedes on behalf of the believer. I believe the Spirit is active in the salvation and sanctification process. I believe that the Spirit has ordained spiritual gifts to the believers so that they may edify each other in the body of Christ.

Doctrine of the Angels

I believe that angels are a created being by God, and I believe there are three types of know angels, being cherubim, seraphim, and the archangel. I believe the angels are made to serve God’s purposes of worship to God, delivering messages from God, and ministering to the people of God. I believe Satan, which was a high angel, sinned against God, and is therefore the enemy of God. I believe that Satan and his demons have revolted against God. I believe the devil was the originator of sin. I believe that Satan and his forces can attack God’s people by divine permission, but that demon possession is impossible of a believer.

Doctrine of Man

I believe man was created by God on the sixth and final day of creation, being created in the image of God. I believe God created man with material and immaterial characteristics. I believe man was originally created perfect, but now because of the fall has a sin nature. I believe God established marriage between one man and one woman. I believe man has been given responsibility and authority in God’s creation. I believe that God’s chief purpose for man is to receive His gift of salvation, and then serve God in light of that salvation.

Doctrine of Sin

I believe the Bible clearly teaches about sin. I believe that every man is guilty of Adam’s sin from the moment of conception. I believe that man possess a sin nature. I believe we live in a sin cursed world. I believe that man is doomed to hell because of sin. I believe that man posses a deprived nature. I believe God detest sin, especially in the Christian life.

Doctrine of Salvation

I believe all men everywhere need Christ as savior. I believe man is saved through the vicarious atonement of Jesus Christ. I believe salvation is only by grace through faith. I believe man cannot work for his salvation. I believe one cannot lose their salvation, but that it is eternal secure. I believe that once saved, you are forgiven of all your sins. I believe that Christ died for all. I believe salvation causes spiritual regeneration. I believe salvation brings eternal life in heaven with Christ whom we now have peace and fellowship with.

Doctrine of the Church

I believe the church is a called out assembly by God. I believe the church was started by Jesus Christ with twelve apostles. I believe the church began at Pentecost, in which the church was empowered by the Holy Spirit. I believe the church is composed of members who have trusted in Christ as their Savior and have been baptized into a local body. I believe the church is both a local and universal body. I believe the church has one head and high priest, being Jesus Christ. I believe a church is a called out assembly meeting for the purpose of worship, fellowship, and service. I believe there are two ordinances of the local church, being the Lords supper and baptism. I believe there are two offices of the local church, being the office of the pastor and of the deacon.

Doctrine of the End Times

I believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture of the church. I believe that the believer will now posses a body incorruptible by sin. I believe in a literal seven year tribulation. I believe in the second coming of Christ. I believe in the millennial kingdom. I believe that Christ will judge all at either to judgment seat or the great white throne. I believe in a literal place called heaven, and a literal place called hell
